Victoria came from a Victorian rental house two doors away from the sanctuary.  Word got to us  from a neighbor that the tenant had moved out 3 weeks  prior.  There was no heat, food or water but they left behind a cat.  Even before they moved, the treatment of their cat was less than acceptable.  They had fleas in their apartment and Piglet (now Victoria) had allergies.  She had open wounds and loss of hair.

Fortunately we were able to get her.  First thing was to get rid of the fleas.  Her tail was nothing  but a thin extension.  No fur.  She is now fully filled out and beautiful.  Her disposition is slightly  unpredictable - trusting yet still uncertain.

A box turtle had also been left behind in a cage.  Again, no food, water or heat.  We were able to  get him to a wild life rehabilitator who gladly took him and will gradually introduce him back into nature where he belongs.  That's a first for us - rescuing a turtle.

I wonder what's next.
